I used an EOS 300D with a 500 mm zoom
The camera-setting was standard;
Shutter Priority (Tv) mode, try to not use the zoom too much and look for natural source of lights, but sometimes, like in the case of Jibril Rajoub, I was in a very bad position.
The shutters were open behind him and, for security reason, i was obliged to stay in my bad spot, moreover I only had a few minutes to make the pictures, working on film was a real challenge.The pictures has been lately digitized with a Canon Scanner.
I remember that day so clearly.
And even the "training" -- never forget --
before attending the conference all the photographers were obliged to learn how to survive in case of terrorist attack.
It was a 3 days training in an abandoned building outside Geneva.
At the time the war was brutal. Besides Arafat was pronounced dead on 11 November 2004, so the situation was very very tense.
3,225 Palestinians killed by Israelis (3,135 by military in the territories, 54 by military inside Israel, 34 by settlers in the territories)
950 Israelis killed by Palestinians (431 inside Israel, 218 settlers, 218 soldiers on duty)
Here you can find all the information regarding these terrible days.

The entire world was at The Palais des Nations that day.
In 2005 they found an agreement. I remember, I was there making picture!
But they are still in war.
In the end the Conference was a big failure. No one was happy.
The situation was very hot between the two groups of representative of respective countries.
The area at the "Palais" was shielded, the army had arrived to increase security around the Palais des Nations.
Here some of the pictures i found cleaning my desk.
