I know that I'm a kind of "pain in the neck" but i would like to explain you a few details
about this promo which has been created using an old-school technique.
In the 90ies, i was working in New York, for Boss model-agency, those were incredible years.
My portfolio was getting so big, and costs as well for the films, the prints in special labs etc etc-
So I decided to move on the digital, besides i thought it was time for us to start doing something to reduce our impact on the environment, so i was very excited by this new technology.
How it works in the fields, when you have to prepare a test for an agency and you have just a couple of hours, you don't know the subject, you don't even know is sex, sometimes, all you have is a complicated foreign name on a piece of paper, an appointment some where int her city, maybe a studio, maybe not, so with a digital camera was incredibly easy to pick the right picture, i used to shoot on Continuous Shooting, i remember my camera was 6 MILLION PIXELS what an achievement in resolution, but man.. better than spend half of the money in films and prints right?sing
So, for this promo i was looking for a simple effect, and we were in the back sort of skid row, right behind the posh area.. ironic.
Well, It is filled up with graffiti, some are projects created by art-schools, associations or what-so-ever, others are just wild artistic expression of dissents.. very impressive.
By the way, i created some simple slides.. with very sharp pictures, worked the pictures directly from FinalCut in RAW extension, to give a stronger impact.
The effect is very nice, pulled up exposure on the whites and reduced the main channel.. nice result.
Enjoy
